I want to give you a Disney secret, this is the BEST MONEY we spent at Disney World.
We just recently celebrated my daughter’s birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort and had the best time! After working at Disney for many years, one of the main questions families ask me is what “extras” are most worth the money.
This is a TOTALLY valid question because there is so much to do at the property. In fact the 4 main theme parks just brush the surface! There are tons of amazing restaurants, entertainment, shopping, recreational activities, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (Princess Rapunzel makeover shown above) and the Pirates’ League, spas, and two water parks! But after this trip especially, my new favorite investment is in the Memory Maker.
I could write posts for more than a year on all the awesome things there are to do at this amazing resort, but today I want to talk to you about my new all-time favorite product that is 100% worth the money AND MORE.
Memory Maker and Money
This is a product offered by Disney Photopass that allows you access and downloads of all of your photos taken by Disney Photopass photographers during your vacation! These include photos taken in the parks, with characters, at some character dining locations, and even some rides! You can get it at a discounted price before you check-in or purchase after you get there!
For my military friends, you can buy this product for just $84 dollars at Guest Relations locations, IT’S A STEAL!!!
Now I know many people will say “I will just take my own pics with my iPhone.” And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I do too, all the time. But I am also in hardly any pictures from my first 3 years of being a mom and it turns out I REALLY want good family pictures and they mean a lot to me. I know I am not the only one. This service allows you to jump in every pic with no hassle and let someone else jump around trying to make everyone look and smile.
It was worth it to me just for this one photo taken on Main Street on my daughter’s birthday. It is the best photo we have ever taken as a family in our favorite place. (My husband and I met on Main Street almost 6 years ago while we were both working in the park and a year later he proposed at Disney).
First Haircut at Magic Kingdom
Plus, sometimes when you are in charge of the camera, you are missing out on the experience and that is something that cannot be replaced. For example, did you know you can have your baby’s first haircut done at the barber shop in Magic Kingdom? It is seriously one of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life. A Photopass photographer took photos of the entire haircut, I did not have the urge even once to pull out my phone because I was afraid of a lack of photos. He captured precious memories of C’s first haircut and I got to sit back and enjoy the experience (and make sure she didn’t leap from the chair, that too). It would not been the same experience if I was trying to take the perfect pictures and take it all in.
*I highly recommend booking this experience. First Haircut cost $25 and includes the haircut, a certificate, and a pair of Mickey ears with “My First Haircut” embroidered on the back. They also wrap up some of the cut hair for you to take home with pixie dust. And it makes for the CUTEST photos, of course.
I am still going through all of our vacation photos, but y’all this mama’s heart is SO HAPPY. I am thankful to all of the photographers that took the time to help us get these awesome family photos that I will treasure forever.
Plus it is an AWESOME excuse to rock those matching/coordinating outfits that are PERFECT for photos! E’s Dress, inspired by Rapunzel is from AM Designs Boutique and I cannot recommend her enough, she does custom made dresses for girls that are PERFECTION. If you know me at all, you know I love to match with my girls, so I found my Frying Pan “Who Knew?” tank, also inspired by Rapunzel, from the Shirt Locker.
I am so happy I found out about this service and will now recommend it to all of my friends and family (especially those of you with little ones! Its a game changer!!!)
Anyone planning a Disney vacation? I want to hear from you!
