Hey y’all! I’m Maggie!
I am a small business owner, blogger, wife to my wonderful paramedic/firefighter husband, and my best role is stay-at-home mom to my two beautiful baby girls.
In 2013 my husband and I got married and I left my career at Disney to be home more with my step-daughter and start a small home business that I had in mind. I loved being at home and was getting a small income to begin with, but we decided we wanted to make even more changes in our lifestyle. We became obsessed with ways to save money. Very quickly small changes to our budget and DIY projects became a hobby. In fact, it became a hobby that not only saved us money, but provided another income. In addition to my original photo scanning business, I started dabbling in crafts, especially shadow boxes and wreaths.
Staying at home with the babies was a very big decision. Knowing that I was able to find ways to earn money from home made that decision a little more comfortable, it also really helped that it was also my husband’s desire that I stay home with our girls too. Strong support was key. I very much hope that by sharing my story I can not only connect with other stay-at-home parents but also encourage other families that may be on the fence about staying home that it can be done and provide support, encouragement, and the different ways we make it work in our family.
